The 70 inquests held during the year were at the rate
of 9.3 per cent. of the total deaths.
50 of the inquests were held at the Coroner's Court,
Goldsmith Street, and 20 at Public Institutions outside
the district, where the deceased had been removed for
treatment.
The causes of death may be classified as follows:—
