The average number of persons in residence during the
year was 1,391, 1,159 adults, and 232 children under five
years.
There were 42 births, equal to annual birth-rate of
30.2 per 1,000, and 20 deaths, corresponding to a deathrate
of 14.3 per 1,000.
There were five zymotic deaths, viz.: diphtheria 1,
measles 1, and diarrhoea 3, these equalled a rate of 3.5
per 1,000.
Thirteen of the total deaths, including those from
the infectious diseases, were those of young children.
