114 samples of butter were examined of which 13 (11.4 per cent.) were found to be adulterated with quantities of foreign fat varying from 40 to 80 per cent.

Spirits, Bread and Lard.
All the samples of these articles were certified to be
"not adulterated" and were for the most part of good
quality.
"Food and Drugs Act Amendment Act."
I venture once more to point out that it is extremely
important that this proposed bill should embody the
principal recommendations of the Select Committee on Food
Products Adulteration more especially with regard to the
formation of the Court of Reference, the question of
warranties referred to above, and the qualifications of
persons appointed to the position of Public Analysts.
