The following macadamized roads were re-coated with
broken granite, a steam roller seven tons in weight being
afterwards used to level the surface :—

Upper Montague Street.
Maintenance of Asphalte and Wood Carriage-way
Pavements.
During the year the question of the future maintenance
of those asphalte pavements whose free maintenance were
nearing expiration was considered by the Board, who
resolved to call upon the respective Asphalte Companies to
maintain the said pavements for a farther period of fifteen
years. The following is a list of them, with the amount
to be paid the companies in respect of the same.
