The Death-rate among Persons 60 years of Age and
upwards.
The registered deaths among persons 60 years and upwards were
225; of which 72 belonged to St. George, Bloomsbury, 111 to St. Giles
South, and 42 to St. Giles North. The rate of mortality was as follows:
Whole District 1 death in every 5.29 deaths and in every 237 of population.
St. George, Bloomsbury do. do. 4.70 do. do. 247 do.
St. Giles South 1 do. do. 4.36 do. do. 172 do.
St. Giies North 1 do. do. 8.78 do. do. 392 do.
The Death-rate among Persons at all Ages.
(except infants under 1 year, and persons 60 years and upwards.)
The number of registered deaths among persons at all ages who
died within the District was 578, of whom 148 belonged to St. George,
Bloomsbury, 270 to St. Giles South, and 160 to St. Giles North.
The ratios to the whole mortality and to population are thus expressed:
Whole District 1 death in every 92 of population =10.81 per 1,000.
St. George, Bloomsbury 1 do. do. 120 do. = 8.29 do.
St. Giles South 1 do. do. 70 do. =14.14 do.
St. Giles North 1 do. do. 103 do. = 9.69 do.
The following are the ratios to total deaths:
Whole District 1 in every 2.0 of all deaths.
St. George, Bloomsbury 1 do. 2.29 do.
St. Giles South 1 do. 1.79 do.
St. Giles North 1 do. 2.30 do.
I will now give the usual Table, relating more particularly to the
deaths of children, which can be compared with similar records in
other districts.
