SURVEYOR'S DEPARTMENT-REPORT.
Gentlemen,—
Appended is a summary of the Works commenced, completed,
and in progress, under the superintendence of this Department, for
the year ending 25th March, 1875.
The cost of keeping in repair the undermentioned Macadamized Streets in the District during the year, namely, Bedford Square, Bedford Place, Bernard Street, Brunswick Square, Chenies Street, Hart Street, Montague Street, Russell Square, Torrington Place, Upper Bedford Place, &c., was as follows:—
892 yards of broken Granite | £698 | 14 | 8 |
The cost of labour in repairing and spreading the materials on the streets for the year was | 79 | 12 | 6 |
The cost of the steam roller in consolidating the Macadam was | 50 | 7 | 6 |
Making together | £828 | 14 | 8 |
The Carriage-way Paving of the following Streets has been redressed and relayed on a bed of concrete 9 inches deep, at the following cost:—
