The Board of Works for the St. Giles District.
ANNUAL REPORT, 1875.
In compliance with the requirements of the Metropolis Management
Act, the Board present to the Parishioners their Annual Report,
comprising the Works commenced and completed, and those in
progress; the proceedings for the Removal of Nuisances, the
improvement of the Sanitary Condition of the District; the Reports
of the Medical Officer of Health, and of the Analyst under the
Adulteration of Food Acts, and abstracts and summaries of the
Annual Accounts.

The following meetings have been held during the year commencing June, 1874, and ending May, 1875:—

Accounts.
The Accounts of the Board are annexed to this Report. On
perusal it will be seen that the largest item of the Board
expenditure consists of the sum of £5,605 13s. 8d., paid to the
Metropolitan Board of Works, for which precepts were made on this
District, for the purposes following, viz.:—
For the Consolidated Rate, including therein
Main Drainage, Fire Brigade, Sinking Fund
and General Expenses, the sum of . £5,551 6 5
For payment of the debts and liabilities of
the late Commissioners of Sewers 54 7 3
Making together £5,605 13 8
