Section 24—Health Visiting Service.
The implementation of our proposals under this section has
been greatly curtailed by the continued dearth of trained health
visitors. As already mentioned in the preface of this report, a
scheme for the training and employment of student health visitors
in conjunction with neighbouring local health authorities has been
inaugurated and will assist us, it is hoped in the course of time,
to achieve our full complement of staff.
The work of the health visitor has been more precisely defined
and now embraces the educational, preventive and advisory aspect
of the health of all members of the family.
