Provision for Unmarried Mothers and Homeless Children.
Already detailed in report for 1930.
Illegitimate Children.
The Council have not yet decided their policy under Circular
2866, no social worker has been appointed for the purpose and
the arangements at present are undertaken by the Social Welfare
Committee.
During the year ended 31/12/45, the following amounts were collected at the clinics :—
Fees for maternity hospital accommodation | 3,840 | 5 | 1 |
Fees for municipal midmifery | 140 | 10 | 6 |
Sale of dried milk and ancillaries | 1,699 | 4 | 3 |
Total | £5,679 | 19 | 10 |
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.
Two cases of Ophthalmia Neonatorum was notified during
the year, with the following result:—
(a) Vision was unimpaired 1
(b) Vision was impaired —
(c) Vision was lost —
(d) The patient was still under treatment at the
end of the year —
(e) The patient removed from the district 1†
(f) Classification under above heads cannot be
made —

† Patient notified in East Ham belonged to West Ham.
