The Invalid Children's Aid Association.
The East Ham Branch of the Association is of inestimable
benefit to the invalid and crippled children of the Borough, and
the Report for 1934 shows an even greater achievement than that
of any previous year.
The Public Health Committee and the Education Committee
value the close co-operation that exists with the Branch and the
opportunity afforded to them of obtaining immediate and suitable
treatment or convalescence for the many little sufferers who come
under their care. In numerous instances were it not for the
expeditious and efficient arrangements made by the Association,
considerable difficulty would be experienced in placing children
in appropriate institutions, and much hardship would therefore
result. The opportunities afforded for furthering the benefit obtained
by minor operations and special treatment and of raising
the resistance of children after serious illness, is due to the many
facilities available and an efficient system which is indispensable
alike to the Authority and residents of East Ham. I desire to
express my thanks to the Committee and to Miss H. Webber,
the Secretary, for their kind assistance during the past year.
