Poor Law Medical Out-Relief.
The arrangements were set out in the 1930 Report. Since
the transfer of this service to the Council the only change that
has taken place is that prescriptions formerly dispensed by a
dispenser are now given to the patients and dispensed by panel
chemists.
During the year under review Drs. Harrison and Brews, the District Medical Officers, carried out the following work :—
No. of visits to homes of patients. | No. of patients seen at public Dispensary. | No. of prescriptions issued. | |
---|---|---|---|
Dr. Harrison | 4,427 | 6,624 | 4,162 |
Dr. Brews | 277 | 473* | 591 |
*Visits to Surgery.
HOSPITALS.
(a) Provided by Local Authority, (b) Maternity,
(c) Mental, (d) Orthopaedic, (e) Ear, Nose and Throat,
(f) Puerperal Fever and Pyrexia, (g) Ophthalmia Neonatorum.
There are no further comments to make on the Council's
hospital arrangements under the above headings. Particulars
were set out in previous reports. Building has commenced on
the new Pavilion at Harts Sanatorium and it is to be hoped that
this additional accommodation will be in use during the year 1933.
