† The actual number of deaths registered in the Parish was 2854, and it includes 99

a compensatory allowance for the deaths of parishioners that may have taken place in
general hospitals, &c., out of the Parish. The total, 2,884, is made up by the addition of
30 deaths of parishioners from small-pox and "fever," that took place at the hospitals of
the Metropolitan Asylum District.
‡ The return of marriages for the year 1870 does not include those that took place
at the Superintendent Registrar's Office, concerning which I have no information.
