INFANT MORTALITY
There were 42 infant deaths, being 20 less than in the
previous year. The infant death rate was 16.9 compared with
20.0 for England and Wales, and 21.2 for London.
DEATHS FROM CANCER
Of the total number of deaths, 351 were from Cancer
(excluding Sarcoma), being 32 more than in the previous year.
Of these, 179 occurred in men, and 172 in women. More
than half the Cancer deaths (294) took place in hospitals.
