The following table shows the legal proceedings taken in
connection with unsound food during the year:—

When unsound food is purchased by farmers on condition
that it shall not be used for the food of man, it is usually consumed
by pigs. A notification is received from the Medical
Officer of Health of the district in which it is purchased. The
farm is then inspected and the consignment kept under observation
until it is all disposed of for the purpose for which it
was purchased. During the year, the following have been so
