Ministry ok Pensions.
The Tuberculosis Officers have acted as referees for the Ministry of
Pensions, and a considerable part of the time of the Dispensary staffs is
occupicd by work in connection with the Ministry.
The results of industrial training for tuberculosis ex-service men have
been unsatisfactory in Stepney, largely owing to the impossibility of obtaining
adequately paid work after discharge from training colonies.
Table III. shows the number of War Pensioners dealt with by the three
Dispensaries.

After-Care.
The after-care work remains one of the most difficult problems in connection
with the anti-tuberculosis campaign in the Borough.
The prevalence of unemployment at the present time renders it almost
impossible to obtain suitable work for patients on leaving the Sanatoria. It
has already been indicated that the possible value of special training is nullified
by the same lack of facilities for obtaining work.
