The following table contains the number of persons notified and the number of deaths from Tuberculosis per 1,000 of the population during 1913 in certain model dwellings in different parts of the Borough, which are occupied by Jews and Non-Jews.

Less value is attached to statistics and deductions to be drawn from small
numbers, than from large figures, on account of the greater liability to error.
Leaving Lolesworth Buildings out of the calculation, as the number of Jews
and Non-Jews, is fairly equally divided, the remaining Buildings, which are of a
similar type, are occupied by 5,789 Jews and 6,848 Non-Jews. In the former
16.4 per 1,000 of the occupiers were notified to be suffering from Pulmonary
Tuberculosis, and 2'41 per 1,000 died. In the Buildings which contained no Jews,
38 per 1,000 were notified to be suffering from the disease, and .87 per 1,000 died.
That is, in the Buildings entirely occupied by Jews, 95 notifications were
received, and there were 14 deaths or 14 7 per cent. of the persons attacked. In
the Buildings where there were no Jews, 26 notifications were received, and there
were 6 deaths, which is equal to a percentage of 23 of those attacked.
From the above it will be seen that a greater percentage of Jews contract the
disease than Non-Jews (16'4 and 3 8), but a smaller percentage die of those attacked
(14.7 to 23).
The above figures tend to confirm the opinion which I have frequently
expressed, that Pulmonary Tuberculosis is more common among Jews than others
