There were 1,081 deaths of non-residents in Public Institutions in the District.
Notifiable Diseases.
1,717 notifications of Infectious Disease were received, or 16 less than in
the previous year. This corresponds to a rate of 6.23 per 1,000 of the population.
1,369 were removed to various Hospitals and Infirmaries.
334 belonged to the Limehouse District, or at the rate of 6.33 per 1,000.
245 belonged to St. George-in-the-East, or at the rate of 5'25 per 1,000.
714 belonged to Mile End Old Town, or at the rate of 6 .44 per 1,000.
424 belonged to the Whitechapel District, or at the rate of 6.49 per 1,000.
There were in addition, 3,931 notification certificates received referring to
Tuberculosis, 2,542 of whom were notified for the first time.
