One sample of dried parsley was found to be contaminated by
irildsw, The remainder of the stock was surrendered and destroyed.
The six samples of ice cream taken were found to contain an
average fat content of 9.8 per cent, the figures ranging from 5*3 per
cent to 15,5 per cent. Copies of analyses were sent to the Ministry
of Food in accordance with Circular 3/49,
Warning letters wore sent to vendors in respect of minor
adulterations and irregularities in borac.ic ointment and iodine, and
to manufacturers in respect of ground mixed spice and throat pastilles
UNSOUND FOOD.
During the year 1950, 1080 certificates wore issued in respect of
food unfit for huanan consumption, which included the following :-

DISPOSAL OF UNSOUND FOOD.
In order to prevent waste where possible, most of this unsound
food was forwarded to dealers appointed by the Ministry of Food for
reconditioning or other purposes.
