The readings taken at the Town Hall were mainly slightly lower than those from the Disinfecting Station but this could be accounted for by the close proximity of an electricity generating station to the latter site.

HOUSING (OVERCROWDING).
During 1950, 177 families recorded in the Overcrowding Register
of the Public Health Department were rehoused by the London County
Council and by this Council. The number on the register at the
end of the year was 477, all of whom had been recommended for
rehousing. 505 calls and inspections ware made by the sanitary
inspectors in connection with overcrowding.

Part III of the Housing Act, 1936 in respect of an area comprising
32 houses.
