A comparison of the infantile mortalities in the wards is contained in Table VII.
(Appendix). The infantile mortality was least in Moorfields Ward, where it only
amounted to 85 per thousand births, and highest in Whitmore Ward, where the mortality
was 203 per thousand. In connection with this, it is to be noted that Moorfields
Ward is the least densely populated locality in the Borough, whilst Whitmore
