Elsewhere than in public institutions outside the parish, there died 11 persons
who belonged to Shoreditch, viz: 1 in the River Thames, 1 in the Regent's Canal,
1 on the way to St. Bartholomew's Hospital, 1 on the way to the Royal Fever Hospital,
1 in Elwin Street (Bethnal Green), 1 in the Hackney Road, 1 in Mare Street, Hackn3y,
1 in the Kennington Park Road, 1 in Stepney Causeway, 1 in Holloway Prison, and
1 in Kingsland High Street.
Altogether 326 residents of Shoreditch died outside the parish, and 315 of these
were in public institutions, of the 2,860 persons belonging to the parish who died
during the year, 705 or 24.6 per cent died in public institutions as compared with 27'0
per cent for the whole of London.
ZYMOTIC DISEASES.
The number of notifications of infectious diseases in the parish was 1157*. The
yearly number of notifications since 1889 are set forth in the following table:—

notified during the four quarters of the year 1895, under the heading of the several
notifiable infectious diseases together with the numbers and percentages of cases
notified removed to the hospitals of the Metropolitan Asylums Board.
