DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS.
Mr. G. R. Woods is the Inspector appointed under the above
Acts.
This year was, fortunately, free from Swine Fever, Foot and
Mouth Disease, Anthrax and Fowl Pest being notified in the
Borough. Fifty-four visits and interviews were made by the
Animals Acts Inspector. One hundred and eighteen Statutory
Orders were received. Three Movement Licences were issued and
84 received.
The Statutory Orders were published in accordance with
Article 7 of the Animals (Miscellaneous) Provisions (Order), 1927.
PREVENTION OF DAMAGE BY PESTS ACT, 1949.
Excellent work continues to be performed by the two Assistant
Rodent Officers.
A free service is now offered to private dwelling houses, but a
statutory charge has to be made for rodent work at business
premises.
There was a change of one personnel during the year.

The following tabulation gives details of the work carried out by the rodent control staff during the year ending 31st March. 1956. In addition, six monthly maintenance treatments of the sewers in the area are made.
