HOUSING.
HOUSING REPAIRS AND RENTS ACT, 1954.
During 1954. sixteen applications were received for certificates
of disrepair under the above Act. Five certificates were granted,
three refused, and eight were under investigation at the end of the
year.
It is not certain whether this part of the Act. referring to the
application by tenants for a certificate of disrepair will be used to
the extent originally anticipated.
It is hoped that owners of property will take advantage of the
Improvement Grants envisaged in the Act.

Statistical details of this work will be found in Tables VIII
and IX in the Appendix.
