SCHOOL HYGIENE.
During the year the new Infants School at Pickhurst was
opened, provision being made for 360 pupils.
A commencement has also been made on the re-building of the
St. George's Bickley Infants and Junior School, and it is anticipated
that this will be available for use towards the end of 1954. provision
being made for 240 pupils. A modern school in this area will
prove a most valuable asset in safeguarding the health of the school
children, and will enable the use of the present highly unsatisfactory
premises to be discontinued.
