There was an improvement in the bacteriological quality of
ice cream sold in Bromley during 1948 as compared with 1947.
Pathogenic organisms were not found in any sample, e.g.,
73 in 1947, 115 in 1948.
It is significant that ice cream made in our area showed a
marked improvement.
When unsatisfactory samples manufactured outside Bromley
are obtained, it is the practice to notify the Health Departments
concerned; in consequence there has been an improvement in
the quality.
There was also a noticeable decrease in the number of
itinerant dealers selling in Bromley during the weekends.
