SECTION F.
INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOODS.
FOOD SAMPLING.
The vigilance exercised by the Sanitary Inspectors, in the
important work of safeguarding the food supply of the Borough
was maintained at the highest possible level during the year,
and the co-operation between Inspector and Trader has also
been all that could be desired.
Deliberate adulteration of food and drugs is found on rare
occasions, unsatisfactory samples generally being due to
defective packing, lack of care in preparation, improper storage,
etc.
In addition to the samples taken for analysis under the provisions
of the Food and Drugs Act, 1938, samples were also taken
for bacteriological examination and full details are given in the
following tables.

FOOD AND DRUGS ACT, 1938.
