SANITARY SERVICES
Change of Designation Of Sanitary inspectors
The change of designation from 'Sanitary Inspector' to that
of 'Public Health Inspector' was brought about in August 1956 by
the Sanitary Inspectors (Change of Designation) Act, 1956, This
change was widely commented upon much of this comment was I am
pleased to say, good-natured, some arose from complete ignorance
of the duties involved Although the new designation Public
Health Inspector® is not altogether ideal, it does give to the
public in general a far more comprehensive idea of the nature and
range of the duties involved.
