INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD
(a) Milk Supply
The following licences for the sale of milk under special
designations have been granted.

Supplementary Licences to sell milk from premises which are
outside the area of the Licensing Authority.

Twentyseven samples of milk were submitted for examination
during the year and all of these conformed to the standards under
the Milk (Special Designations) Regulations, 1949.
(b) Ice Cream
There are 11 premises registered for the manufacture of
Ice Cream in the district, and 103 premises registered for retailing
Ice Cream. During the year 193 visits were paid to these
premises, and 77 samples were submitted for bacteriological
examination. Of these samples
60 were Grade I 4 were Grade II
7 were Grade III 6 were Grade IV
(c) Meat and Other Foods
The under-mentioned foodstuffs were certified as unfit for human consumption during the year:—
