War-time Day Nurseries.
Both war-time nurseries were in full use throughout the year,
the average daily attendance at St. Michael's being 30.9, and that
at the White Hart Lane Nursery 32.3. These nurseries have filled
a very useful role in allowing so many mothers to engage in work of
national importance, with the knowledge that their children were
being well looked after while they were at work. The health of the
nursery children has on the whole been very satisfactory, and there
has been very little infectious disease in either nursery.
