the Proetz method of displacement has been employed with success.
He has also had good results from the suction treatment of enlarged
tonsils, a method of treatment which often renders removal of the
tonsils unnecessary.

(e) Dental Defects.
The work done by Miss Seal, the Dental Surgeon, is shown in
Table IV. The scheme of dental inspection covers practically the
whole elementary and secondary school population, but it is not
possible, with one dental officer and one dental surgery, to inspect
every child each year, and provide the necessary treatment for all
who accept the offer of treatment. For many years it has been
necessary to hold evening sessions for dental treatment of the
secondary school children on account of the lack of a second dental
surgery, and one of the most clamant needs of the School Medical
Service is a new School Clinic with ample accommodation for dental
and other services.
(f) Defects of Speech.
The Speech Defect Clinic has been held twice weekly throughout
the year. There are two classes, one for children of twelve years
