The cases admitted are for the most part those of scarlet fever
and diphtheria, but in case of need accommodation is also available
for most other infectious diseases, except smallpox, puerperal
fever and ophthalmia neonatorum, for which other provision has
been made.
2. Smallpox.
The Middlesex County Council is responsible for the provision
of isolation accommodation for cases of smallpox occurring in this
Borough. The accommodation is provided by arrangement between
the Middlesex and London County Councils at one of the London
County Council Smallpox Hospitals.
Provision for the treatment of tuberculosis is made by the Middlesex County Council, and I am indebted to Dr. Tate, the County Medical Officer, for the following information showing the accommodation available at the different institutions during 1935.

Use is also made of many other institutions suitable for
different types of tubercular patients to which cases are sent as
occasion arises.
