The Middlesex County Council is the Authority for taking samples under the above Acts, and Mr. R. Robinson, Chief Officer of the Public Control Department, has kindly supplied the following figures concerning samples taken in Wood Green during 1933:—

PREVALENCE OF AND CONTROL OVER
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
The prevalence of notifiable infectious disease throughout the
district was rather greater in 1933 than in the previous year, the
total number of notifications received being 362, as compared with
266 in 1932. The increase was due almost entirely to the increased
incidence of scarlet fever. The number of cases removed to hospital
or sanatorium was 311.

disease admitted to the Joint Isolation Hospital from the various
Wards in the district:—
