drains being connected to the main sewers which carry the sewage
to a pumping station situated in Tottenham. Here the sewage is
pumped into the London County Council's sewers, by arrangement
with that Council. The pumping station and main sewer in Lordship
Lane are under the control of a Joint Drainage Committee,
consisting of representatives from Tottenham and Wood
Green.
The surface-water drains discharge into the Council's surfacewater
sewers through which the surface-water flows into the Moselle
and Muswell Brooks, and by these is carried finally into the River
Lea.
BATHS.
Good use was made during 1933, both of the Public Baths in
Western Road, and to a lesser extent, of the Open-Air Swimming
Pond on the racecourse at Alexandra Park. Progress was also made
with the Council's project for providing a modern open-air bath on
a central site in Durnsford Road. The Council's proposals were
approved by the Ministry of Health after a public enquiry, and
work on the new bath is already at an advanced stage.

The total attendances at the present baths for 1933 and the three preceding years are shown below:—
