The above instances only go to prove the difficulty in dealing
with cases of Infectious Disease among the thousands of children
who attend our Schools, not only, of course, in Wood Green, but
throughout the Country.
In another instance it was found that the father was a carrier.
A child was taken to the Hospital with Diphtheria, and about three
weeks after, the baby (there were only two children in the house) was
notified. As disinfection, etc., had been most carefully carried out,
I got the Medical Practitioner in attendance to swab the throats of
parents, when the bacilli was found in the father's throat.
This instance shows another example of how infectious disease
may be spread.
