DIARRHCEA.
There were 54 fatal cases of Diarrhoea, 47 of which were in
children under 1 year, against 28 fatal cases in 1903.
During July, August, and September there were 40 deaths of
children under 1 year from Diarrhoea out of 54 for the year, of
these 40 cases it was found upon enquiry that
20 infants were wholly bottle fed children.
11 „ „ part bottle and part breast fed children.
9 cases I was unable to ascertain owing to removal before
enquiries were made.
Of the bottle children, 18 were fed on condensed milk wholly,
12 were fed on ordinary milk, and one fed on sterilised milk.
There were 8 fatal cases of Whooping Cough in Children under
5 years, against 9 in 1903.
There were 24 cases of Erysipelas notified with 2 deaths, against
29 cases with 1 death during 1903.
7 deaths were attributed to Influenza as a primary cause,
against 6 deaths for 1903.

ISOLATION HOSPITAL.

During the year the following 150 cases have been removed to the various hospitals :
