SCARLET FEVER.
90 cases of Scarlet Fever were notified with 2 deaths, against
176 cases with 6 deaths during 1903.
DIPHTHERIA.
171 cases of Diphtheria were notified with 17 deaths, against
55 cases and 7 deaths in 1903.
There was an exceptional prevalence of this disease during the
year, which was most marked in July. The cases were fairly evenly
distributed throughout the district, and there was no marked preponderance
amongst the Scholars of any particular School.
The following table gives the number of cases of Diphtheria and
Scarlet Fever at particular Schools.
