The health visitors and midwives have a close liaison with hospital maternity almoners, officers
of the County Council's Children's Department, Moral Welfare Department, the County Court and Voluntary
Welfare Organisations, for the care of the unmarried mother and her child. Advice was given on
ante-natal care, place of confinement, admission to special home, requirements for the baby, and procedure
for adoption, fostering or placement in a residential nursery.
