Co-operation with General Practitioners
The Midwives work very closely with the General Practitioners, 181 mothers booked both a
General Practitioner and a County Council Midwife for their confinements and the General Practitioner
was present at 25 of them.
Supervision of Midwives
The Non-Medical Supervisor of Midwives inspects Midwives Registers, equipment and drug books
at regular intervals, and supervises the general work of the Midwives. Meetings of the Midwives in the district
are held for discussing their work. The Midwives also meet Health Visitors at the Clinics to discuss
cases and Health Visitors receive written reports from the Midwives on each completed midwifery case.
