Under the terms of the contract, which expired on 31st March, 1920, the contractor was
required to dispose of the house refuse so as not to create a nuisance in Willesden.
No destructor is provided by the Council.
With the exception of a few streets in the older part of the district, where fixed receptacles
for house refuse still exist, moveable receptacles are now generally in use. Steps are being taken to
replace gradually the fixed by moveable receptacles from time to time.
