Modernisation of Existing Pavilions.
In connection with the work of extension existing Pavilions should be brought up.to.date.
This will involve:-
(a) The provision of admission wards.
(b) The provision of Sanitary Annexes in Blocks C. and E.
(c) The provision of balconies.
(d) The provision of electric lighting in Block E.
(e) Other re-arrangements which on detailed examination may be found necessary.
Out Patient, Consultation and Special Departments.
At the present time cases attend to see the Council's Specialists and no adequate provision exists
for this purpose. To meet this and the other needs of a fully equipped Municipal Hospital a special
pavilion is shewn for the following special and out-patient work:—
1. Pathology.
2. Ante-Natal and Gynaecological cases.
3. Throat, Nose and Ear cases.
4. Eye cases.
5. X-Ray cases.
6. Physio-therapeutic, including massage and remedial exercises, cases.
7. Casualty cases.
8. Dispensary.
Mortuary, Post-Mortem Room, Carpenters' Shop, etc.
These are shewn in a special block.
Existing Administration Block.
It is proposed to utilise this for:—
1. Medical Superintendent's office.
2. Consultant's Room.
3. Waiting Room for Patients.
4. Steward's Offices and Stores.
5. Matron's Offices and Stores.
6. Sewing Rooms.
7. Matron's Rooms.
In addition a room is set aside for the use of medical practitioners who desire to make use
of the Municipal Hospital to enable them to keep abreast with the progress of medical science.
The necessary alterations to this Block will require to be carried out.
