(a) 5 beds and 5 cots in one of the wards for cases
of pregnancy;
(b) 1 bed in the existing Duty Room to be converted
into a Labour Wiard.
(c) 4 beds in one of the other wards for septic cases,
such as puerperal fever or ophthalmia neonatorum.
(d) 1 ward to be fitted for operations.
(e) The remaining ward to provide two beds and seven
cots, to be utilised for children suffering from
Malnutrition—Atrophy, Debility, Marasmus;
Diarrhoea, Enteritis; Pneumonia and Bronchitis.
This would involve certain alterations in Pavilion "B"
as follows:—
1. The installation of electric light.
2. The replacing of the existing fire grates with modern
fire grates.
3. The fixing of a sink and lavatory basin in the Duty
Room to be used as a Labour Ward.
4. The fixing of 1 sink and 2 lavatory basins in the
ward to be used for operations.
5. The converting of the door on the west side of one
of the wards into a window.
6. The blocking up of the door on the west side of the
Duty Room, the removal of dresser to west side,
and the cutting of a door on the east side.
7. The cutting of a door on to the verandah on the
East side from one of the wards.
8. The glazing of the windows in Labour Room, and
ward for operations, with muranese, or similar
glass in lower half.
9. The removal of the existing sanitary annexes.
