The foregoing Table, No. 47, shows
(1) That the death rate from Scarlet Fever is lower than
last year.
(2) That the death rate from Diphtheria is nearly three times
as high as last year. Table No. 32 shows that this
is only slightly due to an increased incidence, and
almost entirely due to an increased fatality rate, indicating
that a severe type of the disease has prevailed.
(3) That the death rate from Enteric Fever is stationary and
low.
(4) That the death rate from Measles is exceptionally low.
(5) That there is a considerable increase in the death rate
from Whooping Cough over that of last year.
