Common Lodging Houses.—The two common lodging
houses in the district were inspected at frequent intervals
and generally found to be kept in a clean condition and conducted
in an orderly manner. No alterations have been
made during the year with reference to the accommodation.
The following Table, No. 13, sets out the accommotion
in each of the common lodging houses:—

Houses Let in Lodgings.—No alteration has been
effected with reference to the amendment of the bye-laws
relating to the above, referred to in the Health Report for
the year 1912.
Offensive Trades.—Rag and bone dealers are brought
under the above heading by virtue of Section 51 of the Public
Health Acts Amendment Act, 1907. There are eleven rag
and bone dealers in the district. With one exception they
are of the usual type common in most districts, where rags,
bones, etc., are purchased from house-holders by rag
and bone dealers who carry on small businesses. In the
case of the remaining dealer, rags, bones, paper, and other
decomposable material from itinerant vendors, dustmen and
private persons are purchased on a large scale. The
