The foregoing Table, No. 64, shows that in the six
years 1875-81, the birth rate in Willesden fell by 10.3 per
1,000 of the population, and that in the thirty-two years,
1881-1914, the birth rate still further fell by 9.7 per 1,000.
The birth rate for 1914 is the same as that for 1913, and
the lowest on record. The figures at our disposal show that
the birth rate in Willesden, calculated per 1,000 of the
female population of child-bearing age, is likewise steadily
diminishing. It should also be noted that while the birth
rate in Willesden has fallen by 20.0 per 1,000 during the 39
years, 1875-1914, that for England and Wales has fallen
during the same period by 11.6 per 1,000.
The following Table, No. 65, shows the births and birth
rates per 1,000 of the population in each Ward in Willesden
since 1910:—
