good reason to believe, derived either directly from eating contaminated
shell fish or by contact with cases so originating.
The incriminated shell fish has commonly been partaken of at
seaside resorts.
CEREBROSPINAL MENINGITIS.
This disease was made notifiable for a period of 12 months dating
from 5th August, 1907. Altogether 3 cases were notified during the
year. There does not appear to be any immediate risk of the disease
becoming epidemic, but it is certainly an advantage that the disease is
notifiable, as the early intimation of the occurrence of cases is the
surest way of protecting against its spread.
ISOLATION HOSPITAL.
All particulars relating to the Isolation Hospital will be found in
the appended Report of the Medical Superintendent.
