To the Hospital Committee.
Gentlemen,
I submit the usual Quarterly Statistics. As regards
the table appended, there is nothing of note, except that the
number of admissions shows a considerable increase on that
of the previous quarter.
STATISTICS.
Disease. | Remaining in Hospital, June 30, 1907. | Admitted. | Discharged. | Died. | Remaining in Hospital, Sep. 30, 1907. |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Scarlet Fever | 62 | 108 | 100 | 1 | 69 |
Diphtheria | 23 | 46 | 44 | 2 | 23 |
Enteric Fever | ... | 2 | ... | 1 | 1 |
Cerebro Spinal Fever | ... | 1 | ... | ... | 1 |
Other Diseases | 2 | 18 | 17 | 3 | |
Total | 87 | 175 | 161 | 4 | 97 |
All the wards in the hospital are now practically full, so
that it is possible it may be necessary to open Kingsbury, very
shortly, for convalescent patients. Seven-eighths of the
patients in hospital at present, are suffering from scarlet
fever.
For the Quarter, the cost of maintenance is 4/5 per patient,
and for Staff 7/9½.
I remain,
Your obedient servant,
W. J. J. STEWART.
October 18th, 1907.
