been adopted as was done in the 1906 Annual Report, and in the
second and third Quarterly Reports of 1907. The rates of the
quarterly reports for the first and fourth quarters of the year respectively
are calculated on the estimated population at Christmas.
It is to be noted that both these estimates fall well below that of the
Registrar General (149,192) which assumes the rate of increase to
have remained constant with that of the previous intercensal period.
The rapid decline of building operations in Willesden during recent
years necessarily leads to an overestimate by methods which cannot
take cognizance of this fact.
