Special consideration has been given to the
development of the ante-natal clinic services and
the co-operation existing with the doctors and
midwives in family practice is particularly
gratifying.
The main aim of the ante-natal clinic is the
maintenance of good health and the prevention of
the illnesses or complications of pregnancy. The
advice given falls mainly under the following
headings:-
(1) The maintenance of good health and the
prevention of illness.
(2) The preparation for motherhood.
(3) The dissemination of information regarding
social welfare,
(4) Consideration of the arrangements for
confinement, and
(5) Co—operation with the family medical attendant
or midwife, and with the County and other
hospitals.
