So far as can be ascertained, not a single child immunised
against diphtheria during 1936 developed clinical diphtheria.
Typhoid Fever (including Paratyphoid).—Eight cases of
typhoid fever and two of paratyphoid B fever were notified during
the year. In six of these cases, the infection was contracted during
the widespread epidemic in the Bournemouth district which
