Sanitary Circumstances of the
Area.
Water.-—The water supply of the district, which is almost
entirely served by the Metropolitan Water Board, remains satisfactory
in quality and quantity. The supply is from high-pressure
mains.
One cottage in Bramley Road and a number of houses in the
transferred area at Cockfosters are supplied by the Barnet Water
Co. Here, also, the supply is quite satisfactory. Nine cottages
at Cockfosters still obtain their water supplies from two deep wells.
Samples of the water from these wells were submitted during the
year to chemical- examination with satisfactorv results.

Swimming Bath—The figures of the attendances at the Barrowell Green Open-Air Swimming Bath for the last two years were as follows:

1933.1934.

Following complaints as to the condition of the water in the
Bath, a mechanical cleansing apparatus is being installed.
Broomfield Park Swimming Lake.—This lake is now being
used again for swimming purposes following its being supplied
with water from the artesian well sunk in Broomfield Park.
Rivers and Streams.—Complaints are still being received
regarding the East Barnet Sewage Farm and Refuse Dump. So
far as can be ascertained the matter is in very much the same
position as when the Report for 1933 was issued, little progress
having been unfortunately made during the interval. Enquiries
have, however, elicited the fact that the work of reconstructing the
East Barnet Sewage Farm will shortly be commenced.
